Our Breeding Progam
At Rolling Hills Mini Cattle Co., we are dedicated to ethical and sustainable breeding practices. Our girls are all chondro negative and our sire is chondro positive. This combination helps us provide beautiful, low birth weight, healthy calves. Our program is focusing on health, temperament, conformation, and fluffiness to produce the best miniature cattle. We have a young herd and are excited to grow and expand our breeding program.
We currently offer midsize and miniature British White, Highland, Highpark, Highbelt (Belted Galloway & Highland cross) cows bred to our registerd miniature Dexter bull. This year we had our first two calves and they were adorable! So much so that we retained the little bull to evaluate for a potential future herd sire here! We love and believe in our stock and are sure you will fall in love too. This year we are expecting four new babies!
Why Buy Miniature Cattle?
Mini cows have increased in popularity over the last decade. They make ideal livestock for smaller homesteads with less acreage. Like their name suggests, these cattle are smaller than standard, commercial cattle. They require less ground for grazing and less feed supplements. Micro/ Miniature/Midsize breeds typically mature between 36 and 48 inches and standard cattle can grow to 62 inches. Standard breeds can reach weights up to 1200 pounds. Our smaller breeds will mature 500-1000 pounds. While they require less, they still produce nice quantities of fresh milk, home raised beef for your freezer. Minis make great animals for showing in 4H and FFA while providing companionship for other livestock animals and yourself!
Meet the Girls
Meet Teeter. She was born in April 2022 and we purchased her as a yearling heifer. She is midsize and is my pocket cow. She will follow you everywhere and has the best disposition.
Teeter and Rip gave us a beautiful heifer calf in June 2024. She was a tiny girl with her momma's great disposition.
Meet Reba. Reba is a 2019 model miniature Highbelt (Highland Belted Galloway cross). She is the veteran in our herd and therefore the herd boss. She is not a pocket cow and likes her space but will respect ours as well. She does like treats and lets us play with her baby.
Reba and Rip gave us an adorable little bull calf in June 2024. They produced a tiny little fella with his daddy's build and momma's looks. He's a keeper!
Meet Beth. Beth is a midsize British White born in June of 2022. We purchased her as a yearling heifer in 2023. She has matured into a beautiful cow and we are so excited to announce she and Rip are finally expecting in May 2025! We have waited a long time for this pairing. Haven't we all?!
Meet Cara. Cara was born in 2020 and came to us spring 2024. She is a miniature Black Angus & Herford cross (Black baldy).
Cara gives Reba a run for herd boss title every once in a while. She is a sweet cow and we anxiously await her and Rip's first calf together. Baby coming in March 2025!

Rip, the Ladies love him! He was born in WY Aug. 22 and jointed our ladies as a yearling 2023.

Buddy is the son of Rip & Reba. He was born here and we have high hopes for this little guy. We will pair him with Freya and Sadie in 2025 for some cute, hairy calves in 2026!
